Welding Supervisor

This position requires an experienced and detail-focused individual. The ideal candidate will have a background in fabrication and welding and have the drive, organizational skills, and leadership skills required to lead a dedicated team of metal fabricators.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Manage work in progress and shop production schedule
• Ensure all tasks are completed safely and efficiently, meeting delivery expectations
• Establish open lines of communication across organizational departments to ensure knowledge of all ongoing project expectations
• Conduct regular inspections of the work (practices/methods) to check for any deviations from established quality standards
• Completion of Quality Control checks and forms as required
• Provide new-employee orientations and inform, train and promote safe work methods and environment
• Responsible for time keeping of group

Requirements:

• Prior management or supervisory experience in the structural steel industry, or 5-10 years of comparable knowledge, skills and abilities
• Strong leadership, supervisory, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet challenging deadlines in an efficient and profitable manner
• Exercise sound judgement and maintain a professional demeanor
• Some basic computer knowledge - MS Outlook and MS Excel
• Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings
• Strong welding knowledge and application - SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW/MCAW.
• Knowledge in AWS D1.1 welding, metallurgy and steel fabrication
• Extensive knowledge of reading and interpreting structural blueprints
• knowledge of codes of standards for AISC, AWS, and CWB
• Promotes a zero loss mindset culture and effective asset utilization

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
