Welding Teacher (FJSHS)

Qualifications: Valid Indiana Teaching License in Specified Area and Skills, and knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). Industry-recognized certifications and/or experience in welding, fabrication, or related manufacturing fields.

Licensing options:

  • Workplace Specialist: Welding Technology or related course approved for a CTE pathway - or candidate will obtain Workplace Specialist License during first year of teaching

**Workplace Specialist eligibility requirements include 5000 hours

(about 2.5 years) of verified occupational experience in the past five (5)years

  • Demonstrated expertise in welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW), blueprint reading, metallurgy, and fabrication techniques.
  • Proficiency with shop tools, materials, and welding equipment, including the ability to maintain a safe and efficient lab environment.
  • Strong instructional, organizational, and classroom management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and industry partners.
  • Commitment to hands-on learning, safety, and continuous program improvement.
  • Passion for career and technical education, student development, and preparing students for success in the skilled trades and manufacturing sectors.


Position Summary: Frankton Jr/Sr High School is seeking a dedicated, passionate, and knowledgeable Career and Technical Education

(CTE) Welding Instructor to join our team in the Advanced Manufacturing Pathway. This instructor will

engage students in hands-on, project-based learning experiences that develop foundational and advanced welding

skills across multiple processes and materials. The ideal candidate will bring strong industry experience in welding,

fabrication, and metalworking, along with a commitment to safety, precision, and craftsmanship. The instructor will

prepare students for industry-recognized certifications such as AWS (American Welding Society) credentials and

equip them with the technical and employability skills necessary to succeed in postsecondary programs or enter the

skilled trades workforce directly after graduation.
