Job Title: Western Vocal TeacherDepartment: Music / Performing ArtsReports To: Head of Performing Arts / Music Coordinator / PrincipalJob Purpose:
To teach and inspire students in Western vocal music, nurturing their musical talent, vocal technique, and stage confidence while aligning with the school’s overall performing arts objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Teaching & Training
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Western classical and contemporary vocal music (Pop, Jazz, Rock, Blues, etc.).
- Teach vocal techniques including breathing, pitch control, diction, tone quality, and stage presence.
- Conduct individual and group practice sessions.
- Prepare students for school performances, competitions, examinations, and recitals.
2. Curriculum & Planning
- Design and implement lesson plans aligned with the school’s performing arts curriculum.
- Integrate music theory, ear training, and performance techniques into lessons.
- Evaluate and track students’ progress, providing regular feedback and assessments.
3. Performances & Events
- Prepare and train students for annual concerts, assemblies, and inter-school events.
- Assist in organizing school-level musical events, cultural fests, and talent showcases.
- Collaborate with instrumental music and dance faculty for integrated performances.
4. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate attendance and performance records.
- Recommend resources, equipment, and repertoire for the department.
- Participate in staff meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions.
5. Student Development & Guidance
- Encourage creativity, self-expression, and confidence among students.
- Provide guidance for students pursuing formal music examinations (e.g., Trinity, Rockschool, ABRSM).
- Support students in developing performance etiquette and teamwork.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music (Western Vocals / Performing Arts) or equivalent certification.
- Certification from recognized boards (Trinity College London / ABRSM / Rockschool) preferred.
- Proven experience teaching Western vocals to children or young adults.
- Strong knowledge of Western music theory and vocal pedagogy.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for music education and student development.
Work Conditions:
- Full-time / Part-time depending on school policy.
- May include after-school rehearsals or event supervision.
- Participation in school functions, concerts, and professional development programs is mandatory.

Pay: ₹25,691.37 - ₹45,123.94 per month
