We are currently seeking a meticulous and experienced Database Administrator to join our team on a remote, part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the performance, integrity, and security of our critical database systems, which are essential for supporting our clinical operations and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

* Managing, monitoring, and maintaining company databases to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.
* Implementing and managing robust backup, recovery, and data protection procedures, with a strong focus on patient data confidentiality.
* Performing routine database maintenance, performance tuning, and query optimisation to ensure system efficiency.
* Troubleshooting and resolving any database-related issues in a timely and effective manner.
* Collaborating with clinical and administrative staff to understand and support their data requirements.
* Assisting in the planning and implementation of database upgrades and migrations.
* Maintaining clear and comprehensive documentation for all database systems and procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

* Proven professional experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar IT role.
* Strong proficiency with major database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL).
* In-depth knowledge of database security principles, backup and recovery solutions, and performance monitoring standards.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
* The ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote working environment.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience working within the healthcare sector or with sensitive data is highly desirable.
