Job Overview
The Grocery / Wholesale Sales Driver is responsible for supporting the Grocery Sales Manager with existing grocery and wholesale accounts. This includes delivering products, assisting with merchandising, checking inventory, communicating account needs, supporting customer relationships, and helping ensure Brooklyn Roasting Company products are properly represented in-store.
This role may assist with identifying potential new leads or opportunities, but the primary focus is account support, service, delivery, merchandising, and operational follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
Account Support
- Support the Grocery Sales Manager with day-to-day service of grocery and wholesale accounts.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with store managers, buyers, receivers, and stocking personnel.
- Communicate account needs, customer feedback, inventory issues, and sales opportunities to management.
- Assist with follow-up on existing accounts as directed.
Delivery and Inventory
- Load the company vehicle with product accurately according to orders and delivery paperwork.
- Deliver products to grocery and wholesale accounts in a timely and professional manner.
- Check product inventory at customer locations and report low stock, out-of-stocks, or merchandising needs.
- Assist with rotating product and ensuring shelves are stocked and organized.
Merchandising and Product Placement
- Ensure Brooklyn Roasting Company products are displayed neatly and professionally in-store.
- Assist with maintaining shelf presence, displays, seasonal items, and promotional placements.
- Work with management to support new product launches, seasonal offerings, and account-specific needs.
Sales Support
- Assist the Grocery Sales Manager with account maintenance and customer service.
- Help identify potential new leads or opportunities while servicing accounts.
- Share customer feedback and market observations with management.
- Support sales efforts as needed, without being directly responsible for commission-based sales targets.
Administrative and Financial Support
- Prepare, process, and organize invoices and delivery paperwork.
- Accurately document payments when applicable, including cash and checks.
- Ensure all receipts, signatures, and delivery confirmations are properly recorded.
- Use POS or mobile systems as needed for invoicing, tracking, and reporting.
Vehicle and Safety
- Operate the company vehicle safely and responsibly.
- Maintain a clean driving record.
- Report any vehicle issues, accidents, delays, or delivery problems immediately.
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable interacting with grocery staff, customers, and internal team members.
- Previous experience in delivery, merchandising, sales support, food/beverage, or grocery is preferred.
- Ability to use basic computer systems, mobile apps, or POS software.
- Ability to lift and carry products up to 50 lbs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry products for extended periods.
- Ability to load and unload products from a vehicle.
- Must be able to safely operate a delivery vehicle.
