    Description:
    Instructional Assistant - Learning Center (Temporary) (35 hours/week) is available at Westfield High School effective 8/17/26 - 6/4/27.
    Qualifications:
    A high-energy lover of reading, literacy, and technology to support WHS library and learning center programming. Knowledge of library circulation, labeling, and cataloging and an eagerness to learn new technology and create a welcoming environment for ALL students. Background in education, working with students. Knowledge of Google Drive, forms, and calendar to assist in scheduling. Communication and connection with students and teachers throughout the day is vital and valued.

    Evaluated By: Assistant Principal
    Length of Contract: 176 days, 35 hours per week

    The Learning Center Instructional Assistant will be responsible for the following:

    • Provide supervision to the various spaces in the Learning Center
    • Supervise check-out / check in / circulation of library materials.
    • Manage Sign-in / Sign-out of students in learning center
    • Assist in scheduling for classes / project based learning in TLC / Idea Farm
    • Special display set-up
    • Helping promote literacy and a love of reading throughout WHS
    • Help manage Print Shop delivery / needs as they arise
    • Idea Farm supervision / project support when applicable
    • Assist in the WHS Testing Center
    • Help coordinate the WHS Tutoring Center

    ON-GOING
    • Before / After School programming such as book clubs, club events, or Friday morning music
    • Support tutoring program as it gets off the ground.
    • Support CORE programming for library check-out and student academic or club support


    POTENTIAL SCHEDULE:
    Note: Students need access to our facility before and after school, and they want to perform, connect, and work in the space beyond the school day. Schedule can be flexible.
    • Thursday / Friday Early Start / Early Finish: Support morning programming / Before school circulation
    • Tuesday Late-Start / Late Finish: to support after school help sessions programming in TLC (Tutoring, Book Clubs, Club Meetings) or Set up new displays / Day is flexible
    • M, W: Regular Schedule
