Overview
As a Wildland Firefighter, you will play a crucial role in protecting lives, property, and natural resources from the devastating effects of wildfires. This position requires physical endurance, teamwork, and a commitment to safety as you work in challenging outdoor environments. You will be responsible for fire suppression, prevention, and control efforts while collaborating with other emergency response teams.
Pay
- $28.73 - $35.00 per hour
- Overtime available after first 40 hours
- Will receive fringe pay
- $5-$8 supplemental pay while on assignments

Responsibilities
- Engage in fire suppression activities by using hand tools, chainsaws, and fire engines to combat wildfires.
- Operates while following company safety standards and policies.
- Maintains a clean driving record.
- Conduct controlled burns and assist in fire prevention measures to reduce the risk of future wildfires.
- Monitor weather conditions and assess fire behavior to make informed decisions during firefighting operations.
- Maintain equipment and vehicles to ensure they are operational and ready for deployment.
- Document incidents and report on firefighting activities for further analysis and training purposes.
- Participate in training exercises to enhance firefighting skills and knowledge of safety protocols.
Qualifications
- FFT1 or FFT2
- Current Red Card and Arduous Pack Test
- Valid driving license preferred for operating firefighting vehicles.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required during firefighting operations.
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for maintaining equipment used in the field.
- Strong physical fitness level with the ability to work long hours in strenuous conditions.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on communication and collaboration under pressure.
