Winding Machine Operator

Overview
Yankum Ropes is an American-made recovery gear and rope manufacturer based in Burley, Idaho. We're hiring a Winding Machine Operator to join our production team on swing shift(2:30 PM–1:00 AM). This is a hands-on manufacturing role where you'll operate rope winding and braiding equipment to produce the high-quality rope we're known for.

Duties

• Operate Roblon winding machines, braider bobbin winders, and core/jacket braiding machines
• Follow multi-step setup procedures for each machine based on rope size and specifications
• Monitor thread and bobbin levels, performing replacements to maintain continuous production
• Record accurate production numbers and meet daily quotas
• Follow all safety procedures, including powering down machines before making adjustments

Requirements

• Ability to follow detailed, multi-step processes without missing steps
• Ability to read a tape measure or measuring stick
• Must be able to lift up to 90 pounds
• Must be available Monday–Thursday, 2:30 PM–1:00 AM
• Ability to stand for extended periods (30+ minutes at a time)
• Team player with a positive attitude in a manufacturing environment

Nice to Have

• Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience
• Experience in rope, textile, or similar production environments
