Duties

• Prepare wood surfaces by sanding, grinding, and smoothing to achieve optimal finishing results.
• Apply stains, sealants, varnishes, lacquers, and paints with precision to enhance wood appearance and durability.
• Inspect finished products for quality control, ensuring smoothness, color consistency, and adherence to project specifications.
• Use hand tools and power tools such as sanders, brushes, sprayers, and applicators safely and effectively.
• Collaborate with carpenters, fabricators, and restoration specialists to ensure seamless integration of finished wood components.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and project plans to accurately execute detailed finishing work.
• Maintain a clean workspace by properly disposing of waste materials and organizing tools and supplies.

Requirements

• Proven experience in woodworking finishing techniques including staining, sealing, and painting.
• Skilled in the use of hand tools (e.g., chisels, scrapers) and power tools (e.g., orbital sanders, sprayers).
• Knowledge of construction estimating, trim carpentry, framing carpentry, drywall finishing, and related trades is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for precise application of finishes.
• Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and experience working on construction or restoration sites.
• Strong attention to detail with an eye for color matching and surface quality.
• Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during application processes.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
