JOB SUMMARY

Provide support to the crate shop in its daily operations, cutting and assembling wood products, custom projects, basic equipment maintenance, operating a forklift and/or man lift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Fully comply with all safety and company rules and regulations.
  • Make crates, pallets, stands, and cradles as needed to comply with customer requests.
  • Equipment Upon training and certification: operate material handling equipment, including, but not limited to: forklifts, man lifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Observe all safety procedures, regulations, rules, and instructions in the performance of job duties.
  • Load and unload wood products as assigned.
  • Read basic schematics, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Operate, maintain and repair woodworking equipment per manufacturer or industry standards.
  • Assist in facility operations such as; yard clean-up duty, building infrastructure, or any other assistance as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must be able to speak, read, and write English.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must be able to work independently, manage deadlines and multiple priorities and must possess a high level of accuracy in performing work functions, must possess excellent judgment and analytical skills, with the ability to think independently to determine the best course of action while protecting company profits.

EQUIPMENT USED

Must possess a California class C, or better, drivers license and must be able to qualify for and maintain an airport badge with driving privileges. May be required to qualify for and maintain qualification on the operation of all types of forklifts used at the facility. May be required to qualify for and maintain qualification on the operation of manlifts, ladders, and other equipment deemed essential to the job performance of the employee. Must be able to communicate clearly on a two-way radio/cell phone.
