WordPress Developer (Remote Evening Shift)

Location: Remote (India)
Shift: Afternoon–Night Shift
Experience: 2–4 years (Agency preferred)

Job Summary

The WordPress Developer will be responsible for building, customizing, and maintaining high-quality WordPress websites and eCommerce stores for overseas clients. This role focuses on clean development, performance, responsiveness, and on-time delivery, working closely with the Project Coordinator, designers, and Delivery Lead to meet daily execution goals and monthly delivery targets.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a digital agency environment, can handle multiple projects simultaneously, and is comfortable collaborating during North American time zone overlap.

Key Responsibilities

1. WordPress Development & Customization

• Develop and customize WordPress websites using themes, child themes, and custom code
• Build and maintain WooCommerce-based eCommerce websites
• Integrate Custom Design to WordPress
• Customize plugins, layouts, and functionality as per project requirements
• Ensure cross-browser and cross-device compatibility

2. Performance, Security & Best Practices

• Optimize websites for speed, performance, and Core Web Vitals
• Implement basic security best practices and backups
• Ensure clean, scalable, and well-documented code
• Follow WordPress coding standards and agency SOPs

3. Project Execution & Timely Delivery

• Work on multiple projects while meeting daily task goals and sprint commitments
• Deliver assigned tasks on time with minimal revisions
• Provide accurate timelines and proactive updates to the Project Coordinator
• Flag technical risks or scope issues early

4. Collaboration & Communication

• Participate in daily stand-ups and project sync meetings

• Coordinate closely with Project Coordinator for priorities and handovers

• Support smooth shift handovers with Canada/US-facing teams

• Address client feedback and revisions efficiently

5. QA, Maintenance & Support

• Perform self-QA before handover

• Fix bugs, layout issues, and functional errors

• Support ongoing website maintenance and minor enhancements

• Assist with website migrations, staging setups, and deployments

Must-Have Skills & Requirements

• Strong experience with WordPress development

• Hands-on experience with WooCommerce

• Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL

• Experience working in a digital agency environment

• Strong understanding of responsive design and performance optimization

• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple projects

• Comfortable working in night-shift overlap with North American teams

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with page builders (Elementor, Divi)

• Basic understanding of SEO best practices

• Experience with ACF, custom post types, and custom plugins

• Familiarity with hosting environments, cPanel, and Git

• Exposure to Shopify or other CMS platforms
