As a WordPress Intern, you will work alongside senior developers to build, maintain, and optimize client websites. You will convert Figma/PSD designs into pixel-perfect responsive WordPress web pages using builders like Elementor, customize themes, configure plugins, and assist with WooCommerce setup.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Building: Construct responsive web pages and landing pages using Elementor, Gutenberg, or Divi.
- Design Conversion: Convert Figma, Canva, or PSD design layouts into functional, pixel-perfect WordPress pages.
- Theme & Plugin Management: Install, configure, and troubleshoot WordPress themes and essential plugins (e.g., Contact Form 7, Yoast/RankMath, WP Rocket, Security plugins).
- E-Commerce Setup: Assist in setting up WooCommerce stores, adding products, and configuring checkout processes.
- Speed & Optimization: Basic website speed optimization, image compression, and mobile-responsiveness checks.
- Site Maintenance: Perform regular updates, fix broken links, address layout glitches, and assist with site migrations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Fundamental knowledge of WordPress CMS, dashboard navigation, and page builders (Elementor experience is a huge plus).
- Solid understanding of basic HTML5, CSS3, and simple JavaScript.
- Basic understanding of responsive design (making sites look good on mobile, tablet, and desktop).
- Familiarity with PHP or custom theme/plugin development is a plus, but not required.
- Self-motivated with a strong problem-solving attitude and attention to detail.
- Ongoing CS/IT degree, recent graduate, or self-taught developer with a personal portfolio or sample projects.
