Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative WordPress Website Specialist to join our dynamic digital team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of web development, design, and content management systems, with a focus on WordPress platform customization and optimization. This role involves developing, maintaining, and enhancing WordPress websites to ensure they are visually appealing, highly functional, and aligned with business objectives. The successful applicant will be proactive in implementing best practices for web development, SEO, and user experience to deliver engaging online experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain WordPress websites ensuring optimal performance across devices and browsers.
  • Customize themes and plugins to meet specific client or project requirements while adhering to best coding practices.
  • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes and visual designs into fully functional web pages.
  • Implement responsive web design principles to enhance user experience on desktops, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Optimize website speed, security, and SEO performance through effective configuration and ongoing monitoring.
  • Manage website content updates, including text, images, videos, and other multimedia assets using the WordPress CMS.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and web services to expand website functionalities such as e-commerce capabilities or data visualization tools.
  • Utilize version control systems like GitHub or SVN for code management and collaborate within an Agile development environment using tools like Jira or Trello.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in front-end development with strong skills in HTML5, CSS3 (including SCSS), JavaScript (including frameworks like Angular or React), and PHP for WordPress customization.
  • Familiarity with web design principles, wireframing tools, and user flow creation to craft intuitive interfaces.
  • Knowledge of server management environments such as Linux or Windows Server platforms; experience with Docker containers is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with database systems including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, SQLite, and data visualization techniques.
  • Proficiency in version control systems such as GitHub or SVN; experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tools is advantageous.
  • Understanding of SEO best practices along with experience in implementing responsive web design for optimal user engagement.
  • Familiarity with cloud services like AWS or Azure for hosting and deployment purposes; knowledge of DevOps practices is desirable.
  • Minimum five (5) years proven experience developing and maintaining Wordpress websites

Ability to work within an SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) framework using Agile methodologies; familiarity with project management tools like Jira or Trello is preferred.
