Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Work Comp Case Manager, RN preferred, to join our team. This role is essential in providing comprehensive case management services to claimants, particularly focusing on return to work and ensuring continuity of care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of occupational rehabilitation, orthopedics, and other specialities, including, but not limited to, neurology, trauma, and work conditioning/work hardening. This position requires adherence to HIPAA regulations and a commitment to advocating for patients' needs throughout their healthcare journey.
Responsibilities
- Assessing new claimants by gathering information, reviewing their work-related injury and diagnoses, and developing individualized care plans.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to facilitate medical care and services, with the goal of the patient returning to their normal activities and returning to work.
- Provide support and resources for patients and their families, including education on the care plan and healthcare options.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary to meet evolving needs.
- Schedule appointments with doctors, therapy, and other medical services.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
- Advocate for patients’ rights and access to necessary services within the healthcare system.
- Complete reports and follow guidelines as indicated by the injured worker's work comp company.
Experience
- A Registered Nurse (RN) license is preferred.
- A Certified Case Manager (CCM) certification is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in the Workers' Compensation field is preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in case management within a hospital or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of occupational and orthopedic healthcare is beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
