Overview

We are seeking an experienced Master HVAC Technician with over 15 years of expertise to join our team in a fully remote, work-from-home capacity. This role offers the opportunity to leverage extensive technical knowledge and industry experience to provide expert consultation for the creation of comprehensive HVAC training materials. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of HVAC systems, refrigeration, plumbing, and mechanical maintenance, enabling them to provide accurate feedback on training courses, assessments and learning journeys. A strong background in construction, service technician experience, schematics interpretation, HVAC design, and equipment repair is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate HVAC training content for technical accuracy, industry relevance, and alignment with current best practices
• Provide subject matter expertise during the development of interactive courses, assessments, and learning pathways
• Identify gaps in training materials and recommend additional topics or scenarios based on real-world field experience
• Consult on proper troubleshooting methodologies, diagnostic procedures, and repair techniques for inclusion in training modules
• Evaluate assessment questions to ensure they accurately measure technician competency at various skill levels
• Advise on safety protocols, code compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to HVAC training
• Collaborate with instructional designers to translate complex technical concepts into accessible learning content
• Participate in periodic review cycles to keep training materials current with evolving equipment, technologies, and industry standards

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 15+ years of hands-on experience as an HVAC technician, with progression to master-level certification
• Deep expertise across residential, commercial, and/or industrial HVAC systems
• Strong knowledge of refrigeration cycles, heat transfer principles, and system design
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical blueprints
• Experience with system installation, commissioning, and preventive maintenance programs
• Familiarity with EPA regulations, building codes, and OSHA safety standards
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Reliable internet connection and comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications

• EPA Universal Certification
• NATE certification or equivalent industry credentials
• Prior experience in training, mentoring, or supervising junior technicians
• Background in curriculum development or technical writing
• Experience with multiple equipment brands and system types

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $24.32 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
