Worker: EVS Surgery (Full-Time)

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated full-time Worker: EVS Surgery to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant surgical environment to support high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for ensuring that operating rooms, procedure areas, and surrounding surgical support spaces meet all cleanliness, infection-prevention, and regulatory standards.

Your responsibilities will include the thorough cleaning and disinfection of surgical suites before, between, and after procedures; properly handling, transporting, and disposing of waste materials; restocking supplies; and ensuring that all work is documented according to departmental policies. You will follow established protocols for terminal cleaning, equipment wipe-downs, and environmental safety to minimize infection risk and support the efficient flow of surgical operations.

You will collaborate closely with surgical staff to ensure rooms are prepared accurately and in a timely manner. This includes responding quickly to turnover requests, monitoring cleanliness trends, and assisting in continuous improvement efforts related to infection control, patient safety, and overall workflow efficiency.

Additionally, you will help maintain environmental safety standards by monitoring equipment and supply levels, reporting maintenance needs, and supporting procedures that uphold regulatory guidelines and hospital policies. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a sterile, well-organized environment is essential to supporting safe surgical care.

As an integral member of the surgical support team, you will work closely with nurses, technicians, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that surgical environments are consistently clean, safe, and ready for patient care. Your dedication and high standards will directly contribute to successful surgical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning and disinfecting operating rooms and procedure areas
  • Performing turnover and terminal cleaning of surgical suites
  • Handling and disposing of biohazardous and regular waste
  • Restocking linens, supplies, and essential room items
  • Cleaning and maintaining stretchers, OR tables, positioning devices, and exam lights as applicable
  • Ensuring hallways, sub-sterile rooms, and clean/soiled utility rooms meet standards
  • Reporting safety concerns or equipment issues promptly
  • Supporting infection-prevention and environmental safety guidelines

  • Base Compensation Range: $18.00 - $22.38 hourly, based on years of relevant experience. "Relevant experience" means relevant to the employee's responsibilities set forth in the job description as determined by the HR Manager, CAO, applicable department manager/director and applicable senior leader.
  • Benefits: Benefits include generous paid time off, separate sick leave, health, dental, vision, life and AD&D insurance, long-term disability and option for short-term disability, and retirement plan with employer contribution.
