Worker's Compensation Paralegal

Description:

The Workers Compensation Paralegal is responsible for working up the files alongside the attorneys, while prepping cases for clients.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and send client paperwork and track until completion and submit to required agencies
  • Maintain new client files
  • Update and process existing client files
  • Maintain case management database
  • Retrieve specific documents such as medical records, exhibits and medical source statements and collect information from various other organizations
  • Answer client calls and maintain communication with the clients
  • Maintaining Supervising Attorney’s schedule
  • Any additional duties, as requested

Education and Experience Required:


  • Associate degree in paralegal studies/ paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree in any field
  • Prior legal experience and/or Workers Compensation experience a plus
  • Knowledge of a multi-line telephone system, proficiency in computers, and excellent data entry and typing skills
  • Bilingual (Written and Oral) in English and Spanish is a plus

Work Conditions:


  • General office environment
  • May involve sitting for long periods
  • Exposure to equipment that can cause repetitive motion ailments

Compensation:


  • Hourly salary based on experience
  • Paid Company observed holidays
  • 401k plan, subject to eligibility
  • Employer shall provide partial contribution towards health insurance premiums, subject to eligibility

This position is part-time. However, could become full-time with additional duties given.
