Wound Care Nurse

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wound Care Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in wound care management and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills. This role involves assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients with various types of wounds, ensuring optimal healing and recovery. The Wound Care Nurse will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care and education.

Duties

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients' wounds and overall health status.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessment findings and patient needs.
• Perform wound dressing changes, debridement, and other advanced wound care techniques.
• Educate patients and their families on wound care management, prevention strategies, and healthy lifestyle choices.
• Monitor patients for signs of infection or complications related to wound healing.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with ICD-10 coding standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, nursing staff, and rehabilitation specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
• Provide support in behavioral health aspects related to chronic wounds or long-term care needs.

Experience
Candidates should have the following qualifications:

• Previous experience in wound care nursing or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical office procedures and hospital medicine practices is advantageous.
• Proficiency in venipuncture techniques is a plus.
• Experience in toddler and infant care may be beneficial for family-centered approaches.
• Knowledge of ophthalmology practices can enhance interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to lift patients safely when required.
