Wound Treatment Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Wound Treatment Nurse to join our healthcare team. Duties

• Conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including evaluating wound size, depth, exudate, and signs of infection using evidence-based techniques.
• Develop and implement individualized wound care plans aligned with best practices and patient needs.
• Apply advanced wound treatment modalities such as dressings, debridement, compression therapy, and skin grafts when appropriate.
• Monitor healing progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies based on physiological responses and diagnostic evaluations.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, physical therapists, and case managers—to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on wound care procedures, infection prevention, and lifestyle modifications to support healing at home.
• Maintain meticulous medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Skills

• Proven experience in wound management within hospital settings or long-term care facilities.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and infectious disease control related to wound healing.
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation.
• Skilled in advanced nursing procedures including IV infusion, catheter care, sterile technique, and medication administration.
• Familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding for accurate medical record keeping and billing processes.
• Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions such as dementia or Alzheimer's disease is highly desirable.
