We are seeking a highly skilled, passionate, and disciplined Wrestling Coach to join our elite sports academy. The ideal candidate will be a former high-level competitor with a proven track record of developing young athletes. You will be responsible for building a strong foundation of wrestling technique, physical conditioning, and mental toughness while actively leading our competition team to success.

- Competition Preparation: Develop and implement specific "peak" training cycles leading up to major tournaments.
- Conduct video analysis of opponents and review match footage with athletes to refine strategy.
- Manage corner coaching during tournaments, providing real-time tactical adjustments and emotional support.
- Oversee safe weight management protocols and weigh-in procedures.
- Mentorship: Act as a role model, fostering sportsmanship, resilience, and a championship mindset.
- Safety Management: Ensure all sessions are conducted in a safe environment, prioritizing injury prevention.
Requirements & QualificationsNote: This is a high-level position. Only applicants meeting the following criteria will be considered.
- Proven Competitive Success: Extensive background competing at a collegiate, national, or international level.
- Coaching Track Record: Minimum of 2 years of experience coaching youth and adolescent athletes, with documented success in preparing athletes for podium finishes at regional or national competitions.
- Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of current wrestling rules, scoring systems, and tournament brackets.
- Certifications: Valid coaching certification from a recognized national governing body.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive criminal background check and "SafeSport" (or local equivalent) training for working with minors.
What Else is Required for This Role?
Beyond technical skills, a successful academy coach must excel in the following areas:
- Tournament Logistics: You must be organized enough to handle registrations, travel schedules, and mat-side logistics for large groups of athletes.
- Emotional Intelligence: You must know how to handle the "highs and lows" of competition—motivating an athlete after a tough loss and keeping them humble after a win.
- Parent Partnership: Clear communication with parents regarding tournament schedules, costs, and performance expectations is vital.
- Adaptability: The ability to coach different styles of wrestling depending on the upcoming competition circuit.
- Professionalism: Representing the Academy with integrity at all events, maintaining a respectful relationship with officials and opposing coaches.
