NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:

To provide assistance to various building trade departments, in addition to performing duties under direct supervision of grounds department lead person. To provide a safe, comfortable, attractive, and functional environment to promote the mission of Campbell County School District: 'Teaching Effectively - Learning Successfully'.


JOB FUNCTIONS:


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Drives various fleet vehicles daily.

2. Operates heavy equipment as required.

3. Assists in accomplishing duties of building maintenance and repairs.

4. Performs duties of grounds care, furniture, equipment, and material relocation under supervision of grounds department lead person.

5. Uses positive verbal and non-verbal communication skills when working with district personnel and members of the community at all times.

6. May require entry into confined space as well as the use of respiratory equipment, consequently pulmonary functions test must be passed.

7. As a safety standard, employee must comply with and pass Drug and Alcohol testing requirements as required by policy #4340.

8. Ability to operate riding lawn equipment.

9. Must be 16 years of age or older.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND MENTAL ABILITY:

l Motor vehicle driver record of not more than 2 violations in past 3 years.


EDUCATION, LICENSE, CERTIFICATION, OR FORMAL TRAINING:

  • Reading ability adequate to follow directions and make effective decisions.
  • Current Wyoming Driver's License.
  • Commercial Driver's License may be required.

Various Vehicles (from 6,000 lbs. G.V.W. to over 26,000 G.V.W.)

Lawn Care Equipment

Herbicide/Pesticide Application Equipment

Ladders

Forklift


WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the fllowing physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 5% sitting; 75% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and some hazardous conditions.
