We are looking for a Writer to join our growing company in the Middle East, working alongside independent editors and the Opus 2 team.
Primary Responsibilities

Have technical knowledge of computer-aided translation (CAT) software, Total Eclipse or Case Catalyst

Together with the Editor, provide an accurate transcript of the verbatim record of legal proceedings;

Write transcripts in Total Eclipse and/or Case Catalyst, on a realtime or delayed basis by reference to the audio, ensuring that they are appropriately formatted, names and terms are spelled correctly, sentences are properly punctuated and any errors are rectified;

Assisting, where necessary, with the processing of the final transcript at the end of the day including the provision of ASCII files;

Amending transcripts and preparing errata sheets in accordance with client instruction;

Filing up to date glossaries for all court reporting jobs
Requirements

Prior experience as a court reporter

Extensive English vocabulary and excellent grammar;

Minimum of 200WPM;

Meticulous attention to detail with a low tolerance for errors;

Professional, courteous and confident communicator who can build a rapport with judges, lawyers and colleagues;

Ability to work under pressure;

Proactive with good energy and a willingness to learn;

Flexible, team player
Other information

Overtime work (after hours in the evening) may be required to complete transcripts on time;

Travel to the Middle East and surrounding areas may be required;
