Key Responsibilities
- Patient Preparation
- Explain procedures to patients and ensure comfort during imaging.
- Position patients correctly to obtain accurate diagnostic images.
- Diagnostic Imaging
- Operate X-ray equipment to capture images of bones, chest, and other body parts as prescribed by physicians.
- Adjust equipment settings to ensure image clarity and minimize radiation exposure.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow radiation safety protocols and use protective measures (lead aprons, shields).
- Maintain compliance with NABH standards and hospital policies.
- Equipment Maintenance
- Perform routine checks and calibration of X-ray machines.
- Report malfunctions and coordinate with biomedical engineers for servicing.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Record patient details, imaging procedures, and maintain accurate logs.
- Deliver images and reports promptly to doctors for diagnosis.
- Support Clinical Teams
- Assist physicians during emergency imaging needs.
- Coordinate with nurses and other staff to streamline patient flow.
Skills & Competencies
- Knowledge of radiographic techniques and anatomy.
- Familiarity with hospital safety protocols and infection control.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills for patient interaction.

- The technician may handle multi-tasking roles (X-ray plus basic administrative duties).
