Job Title: X-Ray Technician / Medical Assistant (Bilingual – Spanish Required)

Please note, Spanish speaking is a requirement for this position.

Compass Pain and Wellness is seeking a skilled and compassionate Bilingual (Spanish-English) X-Ray Technician / Medical Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team. This hybrid role combines radiologic imaging responsibilities with clinical and administrative medical assistant duties.

You'll get the opportunity to leverage your imaging skills, but also the chance to learn and grow in the medical field working side by side with one of the nation's best regenerative medicine physicians—learning the ins and outs of stem cell and platelet rich plasma procedures.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced outpatient pain management and wellness setting. Spanish fluency is required to effectively communicate with our diverse patient population.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRadiologic (X-Ray) Duties

  • Perform diagnostic X-rays in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols.
  • Position patients appropriately and ensure proper image quality.
  • Follow radiation safety standards and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Maintain and document equipment quality control.
  • Ensure proper documentation of imaging procedures in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Prepare and maintain radiology room and equipment.

Clinical Medical Assistant Duties

  • Room patients and prepare them for examination.
  • Obtain and document vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, oxygen saturation, weight, etc.).
  • Perform venipuncture and collect blood samples as ordered (we can train you).
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare and sterilize medical instruments as needed.
  • Administer injections or medications as directed (if certified and within scope of practice).
  • Provide patient education as instructed by the provider.
  • Maintain exam rooms and clinical supplies.

Administrative Duties

  • Conduct patient intake and verify demographic and insurance information.
  • Document medical histories and update patient records in EMR.
  • Answer phones and assist with scheduling as needed.
  • Obtain prior authorizations and assist with referral coordination.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Support front office operations when required.

Required Qualifications

  • Current certification and licensure as an X-Ray Technician (as required by state regulations).
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (required).
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in pain management, orthopedics, or rehabilitation settings.
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation cases.
  • Experience in outpatient specialty practice.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to assist patients with mobility.
  • Ability to lift and position patients as necessary.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate radiology equipment and perform venipuncture.

Work Environment

This position is based in an outpatient medical clinic specializing in pain management and functional restoration. The role requires direct patient interaction and collaboration with physicians, physical therapists, psychologists, and wellness staff.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
