Yard Laborer - Entry to Construction

We are looking for a motivated, self-starter who will take our entry opportunity and run with it.

Brown Contracting is looking for hard working team players with great communication skills. Taking initiative and a can-do attitude is a must!

Start in our yard to and use it as a learning ground to learn the tools of the trade – there are many opportunities for advancement to work in the field on our prevailing wage projects located throughout Oregon ($30+/hr. & significant benefits).

Requirements:

• Valid driver's license from any state - REQUIRED
• Reliable transportation to our yard
• Able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
• Work outside in all weather conditions

We want to meet you! This is an entry level position. We provide full training (including forklift and flagger certification) to work in our yard located in Eugene.

You'll learn how to:

• Stage material for upcoming projects and load up service rigs
• Pick up/arrange for delivery of materials to yard/job sites
• Use forklift for loading/unloading service rigs and delivery trucks
• Organize and maintain wood yard/pipe racks, rebar, dowel baskets, and steel stakes
• Inventory, inspection, cleaning and repair of all materials and tools
• Inspection and maintenance of power tools, generators, forklifts and extension cords
• Inventory of shop supplies and lumber yard items
• Dump runs of construction debris
• Yard maintenance including road maintenance, landscaping, weekly utility inspections and repairs
• Indoor office/shop maintenance including janitorial and light repairs
• Report to Yard Manager throughout the day with updates on completed tasks and material needs

Schedule and Benefits:

• Monday - Friday (no weekends!)
• 9am - Close (Closing can be anytime from 6pm-9pm)
• $17 - $19/Hour
• 100% COMPANY PAID medical, dental, strong 401k retirement plan, paid time off including holidays, after 60 day waiting period
