Summary

We are seeking a Yard Manager to oversee our operations at Mentor Lumber & Supply Company. This role is vital for ensuring efficient yard operations, inventory management, and the overall coordination of our supply chain processes. The Yard Manager will play a key role in maintaining our commitment to quality service and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily yard operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
• Oversee inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels.
• Coordinate with supply chain teams to streamline distribution activities.
• Supervise warehouse staff, providing training and support as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor fleet operations to optimize delivery schedules and vehicle maintenance.
• Implement best practices in inventory control and yard organization.

• Supervising and training yard personnel to meet company and regulatory standards. ​
• Coaching employees to ensure excellent customer service, teamwork, and product knowledge. ​
• Communicating with customers and sales staff to ensure customer satisfaction. ​
• Implementing safe operating practices in compliance with company and regulatory policies. ​
• Coordinating order entry, staging, and delivery activities with the Central Dispatch Lead. ​
• Maintaining and recommending updates for delivery and yard equipment. ​
• Assisting in budget preparation for equipment service, repairs, and replacements. ​
• Ensuring compliance with regulations related to driver safety, material handling, and fleet management. ​
• Overseeing record-keeping for received and used materials. ​
• Supervising customer pick-ups and ensuring proper invoicing and transfers. ​
• Establishing maintenance schedules and recommending replacements for equipment and facilities. ​
• Maintaining cleanliness, safety, and regulatory compliance in yard and warehouse areas. ​
• Organizing and managing yard inventories, including cycle counts and proper tagging/storage. ​
