The Role:

The Role:

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking HGV Driver/Yard Person to join our team.

Within this Dual Role you will be:

Delivering agricultural fencing and supplies, as well as domestic

Delivering goods to customers using a HGV vehicle, often off-loading with a piggyback forklift

General Yard Duties supporting the yard team

Key Responsibilities:

∙ Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently for deliveries and collections.

∙ Ensure timely and accurate deliveries to trade and domestic customers.

∙ Conduct vehicle checks and ensure the vehicle and forklift is roadworthy and compliant.

∙ Operate Forklift safely and efficiently

∙ Maintain documentation and report any discrepancies or issues.

∙ Represent the company professionally at all times, ensuring excellent customer service.

∙ Assisting the team with duties in the yard, including Picking for delivery and collection

∙ Conduct forklift checks and ensure the forklift is compliant.

∙ Working with the yard Supervisor to ensure that the yard is run smoothly and efficiently at all times on a day to day basis

∙ Replenishing and rotation of stock

Requirements:

∙ Valid HGV Class 2 UK licence held for at least 5 years

∙ Current and valid CPC and medical

∙ Forklift licence preferred; experience essential

∙ Previous experience in a timber yard or similar industry is beneficial.

∙ Excellent timekeeping and communication skills.

∙ Strong focus on safety, teamwork and customer service.

∙ Previous applicants need not apply.

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 7:50 to 5:30pm

One contracted Saturday a year for annual trade show. (3rd Saturday in September)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From £36,500.00 per year
