Responsibilities

• Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
• Plan and facilitate engaging activities that promote learning, creativity, sportsmanship, and teamwork
• Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques
• Assist with homework help, tutoring, or educational activities tailored to individual needs
• Maintain a clean and organized environment, including activity spaces and common areas
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children’s progress and any concerns
• Implement first aid procedures promptly when necessary and uphold health and safety standards

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or early childhood education is preferred
• Knowledge of classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
• Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified
• Background in special education or experience working with children with diverse needs is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to lead activities related to sports coaching, theater, or childcare enhances your candidacy
• Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for working with students from various backgrounds
• Familiarity with child development principles and childhood education best practices
