Duties
- Lead dynamic yoga classes that incorporate various styles such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Power Yoga, or restorative practices, tailored to the skill levels of participants.
- Develop and modify class programs based on participant feedback, fitness levels, and specific health considerations.
- Demonstrate proper techniques for poses and breathing exercises to ensure safety and maximize benefits.
- Provide clear instructions and modifications to accommodate beginners as well as advanced practitioners.
- Monitor participants during sessions to prevent injuries and offer personalized guidance when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized studio environment by setting up equipment and ensuring mats and props are sanitized after each class.
- Promote upcoming classes, workshops, or special events to encourage community engagement and participation.
- Stay current with the latest trends in fitness, including knowledge of anatomy, physiology, body mechanics, and program design principles relevant to yoga practice.
- Collaborate with other fitness professionals to integrate yoga into broader wellness programs such as CrossFit, Pilates, or sports coaching initiatives.
- Uphold safety standards by understanding injury prevention techniques related to body mechanics and anatomy knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive gym culture by fostering motivation, enthusiasm, and inclusivity among all members.
Skills
- Proven experience teaching yoga classes with strong knowledge of different styles such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Power Yoga, or restorative yoga.
- Deep understanding of human physiology, anatomy knowledge, and body mechanics essential for safe instruction and injury prevention.
- Ability to design comprehensive yoga programs tailored to diverse populations with varying fitness levels and health conditions.
- Excellent teaching skills with the ability to communicate clearly and motivate participants effectively.
- Familiarity with group fitness dynamics and experience leading large or small classes in a gym or health club setting.
- Knowledge of additional fitness disciplines such as Pilates, dancing, cycling or sports coaching is a plus for integrating holistic wellness approaches.
- Strong sales skills for promoting memberships or class packages while maintaining a focus on client satisfaction.
- Enthusiasm for continuous learning about fitness trends including CrossFit training principles or personal training techniques that complement yoga practice.
- Ability to adapt sessions based on participant feedback while maintaining high energy levels throughout classes.
- Certification in Yoga Instruction from an accredited organization is required; additional certifications in Kickboxing, Pilates or group fitness are advantageous. Pay: $27.01 - $32.53 per hour
