Duties
- Develop and implement innovative programs and events tailored to young adult interests, including workshops, book clubs, and digital activities.
- Curates and recommends books, digital media, and resources specific to young adult audiences using databases and cataloging systems.
- Assist patrons with library services, providing excellent customer service while guiding them through available resources and programs.
- Manage data entry and record-keeping related to program attendance, collection usage, and feedback using integrated library systems.
- Conduct research on emerging trends in young adult literature, media, and technology to keep offerings current and relevant with knowledge of current pop culture
- Support library operations by filing documents, maintaining accurate records, and troubleshooting software issues related to library management systems.
- Collect data on program participation and patron preferences to inform future planning and improve service delivery through effective communication skills.
Qualifications
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create engaging program descriptions, promotional materials, and reports.
- Experience with databases, cataloging procedures, and integrated library systems essential for managing collections efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficient computer skills including data entry, software troubleshooting, typing accuracy, and familiarity with common office applications.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly approach to assisting diverse patrons of all backgrounds.
- Knowledge of library services for young adults along with research skills to stay informed about current trends in youth culture.
- Ability to perform filing tasks accurately while managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
