Youth Program Coordinator

Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, warm and outgoing individual to develop and lead engaging programs, activities and events for children from infancy through teen years. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children and enjoys creating a welcoming environment that encourages learning, creativity and fun. Job may lead to full-time employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop and implement a comprehensive schedule of programs for children across age groups including infants (birth-18 months), toddlers (18 months-3 years), preschoolers (3-5), elementary grade levels, pre-teens and teens.
  • Lead and facilitate a variety of activities such as story times, simple crafts, educational programs, play-based activities, and special events
  • Plan interesting and suitable activities to attract teens
  • Design programs that engage families and encourage regular library participation
  • Coordinate and conduct outreach, including visits and programming for school groups and community organizations
  • Create program plans, materials, and schedules
  • Promote programs through flyers, print materials and social media platforms
  • Maintain interesting, attractive children's and young adult areas for children, caregivers and teens with displays and bulletin boards.
  • Manage program logistics such as scheduling, resource allocation, and maintaining a safe environment for all participants

Qualifications

  • Background in education, recreation, child development, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with children of various age groups
  • Ability to lead group activities, read aloud effectively, and teach simple crafts
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Comfortable with outreach and community engagement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate about working with children

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
