Look no further - Garfield County Libraries seeks enthusiastic individuals to join us at each of our branch libraries as Youth Services Interns!
As a Youth Services Intern, you'll embark on a 12-week journey where you'll dive into the world of library services for children and teens. You'll work alongside our dedicated team of librarians and library staff to create innovative programs, engage young readers, and spark curiosity in the hearts and minds of our youth.

Our Youth Services Interns will get hands-on experience in youth librarianship and library programming, perfect for students pursuing degrees in Early Childhood Education, Library Science, Education, or related fields. They will have professional development opportunities, including access to learn from experienced librarians; they'll get insight into the diverse needs and interests of young library users, equipping them with valuable skills in communication, empathy, and creativity. Our Interns will benefit from networking opportunities to connect with like-minded professionals and build relationships within the library community. This internship is paid $21.12/hour; is part-time at 20 hours per week, and is 12 weeks. Benefits include paid sick time and a voluntary 457 retirement plan with employer match of up to 3%.
We anticipate interns starting between mid-May and early-June, and we'll work with our interns to set a start date that works for them as well as us.
