Position Overview

Cass County Public Library is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Youth Specialist to provide programs and library services for children, teens, and families. This position develops engaging programming, supports outreach and seasonal reading initiatives, and helps create a welcoming environment for youth at the branch library.

Key Responsibilities

Youth Services & Programming

• Develop and implement programs for children, teens, and families
• Create displays and promote youth collections and services
• Support outreach efforts and seasonal reading initiatives
• Prepare materials to market youth programs and activities

Public Service & Branch Support

• Assist patrons with library resources, reference, and readers’ advisory
• Support circulation services and shelving duties as assigned
• Participate in youth department meetings and trainings
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Education, library, or youth services experience preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and technology skills
• Ability to work independently and engage effectively with youth and families
• Experience with library technology and design software preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the day
• Ability to lift and move library materials and program supplies as needed
