YouTube Video Producer and Director

About the Role
We’re looking for a highly creative and organized YouTube Video Producer to join our growing digital content brand. You’ll be working directly with the creator (on-camera talent) to take over the entire production pipeline—from conceptualizing video ideas to managing execution, scripting, logistics, and post-production schedules. You should have a strong understanding of YouTube trends, storytelling, and what it takes to create viral, engaging, and on-brand content. This role requires someone who can confidently lead and direct on-set productions with minimal oversight from the creator. As the director, you will be expected to manage shoot flow, make real-time creative decisions, and oversee the overall execution of production. This role will mostly be in-person, with some work that can be done remotely.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creative Development
- Study and understand the channel’s brand, voice, and audience
- Constantly pitch new, relevant, and on-brand video concepts
- Monitor trends on YouTube and other social platforms for inspiration and relevancy
- Collaborate with the creator to refine and greenlight concepts
2. Scripting & Pre-Production
- Write full video scripts or outlines based on approved ideas
- Create shot lists and storyboards when necessary
- Scout and secure filming locations
- Identify and source necessary props, costumes, or equipment
- Develop a comprehensive shoot plan, including shot timelines and call sheets
- Create detailed pre-production budgets per video
3. Production Coordination
- Manage and schedule shoot days
- Hire and coordinate freelancers or contractors (e.g., videographers, editors, makeup artists, etc.)
- Handle permits, rentals, and all production logistics
- Ensure all props, wardrobe, and gear are ready and on-site
4. Directing
- Direct and manage on-set productions, including crew coordination, shoot flow, and creative execution
- Run shoots independently with minimal oversight from the creator
- Make real-time creative and production decisions during filming
- Ensure productions stay organized, efficient, and aligned with the channel’s vision
5. Post-Production Oversight
- Create and manage post-production timelines
- Coordinate with editors and other post-production staff
- Ensure brand consistency, pacing, and overall quality in the final cut
- Oversee final delivery, including thumbnails and posting schedule
6. Publishing & Optimization
- Work with the creator to finalize titles, descriptions, and metadata
- Schedule uploads and ensure consistency in publishing
- Suggest optimization strategies for engagement, retention, and reach
Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Experience producing content for YouTube or digital platforms
- Experience directing films/videos
- Deep understanding of YouTube culture and storytelling styles
- Strong writing skills (screenwriting experience is a big plus)
- Project management and budgeting skills
- A creative eye and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Experience with remote collaboration tools (Monday.com specifically)

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
