We produce weekly technology content through our YouTube channel and podcast, "Along the Edge," covering AI, cybersecurity, and the future of enterprise software. Our channel is an important part of how we build our brand and reach our audience, and we are ready to invest in a dedicated producer to take it to the next level.

About the Role

We are hiring a video producer on an ongoing monthly contract to own our YouTube content pipeline end to end. This is a producer role, not just an editing role. You will plan our release calendar, direct our on-camera talent during remote recording sessions, edit long-form videos and Shorts, and manage the full publishing workflow.

You will work directly with our founding team, who serve as the on-camera talent. We show up to record and review; you own everything else.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a rolling 4-week content calendar for long-form videos and YouTube Shorts
• Recommend topics, formats, and packaging (titles, thumbnails, hooks) based on channel performance
• Direct on-camera talent in real time during remote recording sessions (Zoom, Riverside, or similar)
• Manage recording quality, including audio, framing, and lighting guidance for hosts
• Edit 4 or more long-form videos per month (typically 10 to 25 minutes) to a polished, professional standard
• Cut 10 or more Shorts per month derived from long-form episodes
• Handle the complete publishing workflow: uploads, titles, descriptions, tags, thumbnails, and scheduling
• Deliver a monthly performance summary with recommendations

Qualifications

Required

• Proven track record producing YouTube content end to end, ideally in technology, cybersecurity, or B2B niches (portfolio and channel links required with application)
• Strong editing skills with reliable, fast turnaround
• Fluency with AI-assisted production tools to accelerate the pipeline (transcription, rough cuts, captioning, content repurposing)
• Experience directing non-professional on-camera talent (founders, engineers) and getting the best out of them
• Working knowledge of YouTube strategy: retention editing, packaging, and Shorts as a discovery engine
• Fluent English, written and spoken
• Available for live recording sessions within +/- 3 hours of US Mountain Time
• Self-directed and comfortable owning a schedule with minimal oversight

Nice to have

• Thumbnail design skills
• Podcast production experience
• Familiarity with the AI or cybersecurity industry

Compensation and Terms

• $4,000 to $6,000 per month, depending on experience and demonstrated quality
• Ongoing monthly retainer (1099 independent contractor)
• Rate review after the first 90 days based on output quality and channel growth
• Fully remote; weekly team sync, asynchronous collaboration otherwise
