Role Overview

The zSystems DB2/IMS DBA plays a critical role in supporting enterprise Claims processing platforms. This position spans both DB2 and IMS environments and focuses on database stability, performance optimization, and application support across the z/OS ecosystem.

The DBA partners with application teams to plan and execute deployments, supports proactive database analysis, and provides rotating on-call coverage including nights and weekends.

Key Responsibilities

• Database administration for assigned DB2 zSystems applications
• Database administration for assigned IMS applications
• Manage database space, performance, and stability
• Support application deployments (including off-hours work)
• Provide rotating on-call support (team of 6)
• Incident queue management and batch abend support for DBA jobs
• Backup support for IMS systems
• Act as DB consultant to application development teams
• Proactively analyze database concerns and recommend improvements
• Use AI tools to assist with documentation, capacity planning analysis, and optimization
• Utilize M365 Copilot AI for meeting recaps and communications

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of experience with IBM z/OS ecosystem including:
• z/OS, IMS, CICS, DB2 for z/OS
• RACF
• BMC Mainview, Change Manager, Catalog Manager
• QMF, SPUFI
• 7+ years of experience with IBM utilities, JCL, access methods, and file structures
• 7+ years of SQL experience
• 5+ years working with DB2 database objects (Developer or DBA role)
• 5+ years of DB2 application design and/or development
• 5+ years working with DB2 utilities (IBM and/or BMC)
• Experience with REXX, COBOL, and C-list programming
• Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning
• Knowledge of DB2 security and access administration
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Db2 V13
• Knowledge of DB2 replication
• Basic knowledge of Workload Manager (WLM)
• Experience with Python scripting
• Ability to apply AI-driven tools for documentation, analysis, and optimization

• Experience working in large enterprise mainframe environments

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹359,863.75 - ₹1,501,057.89 per year
