About SJ
SJ is a fine jewelry house specializing in certified natural diamonds set in 18kt gold. Every piece we sell is GIA or IGI certified and finished to the standards of the world's leading maisons.
We operate a single high-end store in Dubai. Our clients are discerning—they ask informed questions about grading, setting, and finishing, and they expect informed answers. Our approach is consultative, never pressured. We don't discount, and we don't upsell. We let the diamonds and the craftsmanship speak.
We're looking for someone to join us in a dual role spanning client-facing sales and day-to-day operations. If you're early in your career and want to build genuine expertise in fine jewelry rather than simply work in retail, this is a role where that happens.
We hire carefully. Our team is small, so every person on it matters, and we'd rather wait for the right candidate than fill the seat quickly. If you're selected, it's because we intend to invest in you properly.
The Role
You'll work directly alongside management in a small team, which means real responsibility from the start and no layers between you and the decisions. Roughly half your time is spent with clients on the floor; the other half keeps the operation running behind it.
What You'll Learn With Us
- Diamonds, properly. GIA and IGI certification, the 4Cs, how to read a grading report, and how to assess a stone with a loupe. This is knowledge that stays with you.
- Craftsmanship. What separates a well-finished setting from an average one — prong work, symmetry, gallery finishing, polish. You'll learn to see it, then to explain it.
- Consultative selling at the high end. How to guide a client through a significant purchase with patience and expertise rather than pressure. A skill that transfers to any luxury category.
- Operations behind a luxury business. Inventory control on high-value stock, international logistics, order coordination, and client data — using our custom ERP, on which you'll be fully trained.
- International exhibitions. How a fine jewelry house presents itself abroad, from setup to client presentation.
- Modern tools. We use current systems, including AI-assisted tools, and we expect and encourage you to use them to work better.
Client & Sales
- Welcome clients warmly and guide them through our collections with genuine product knowledge — helping them find the right piece rather than the most expensive one
- Educate clients on GIA and IGI certification, the 4Cs, 18kt gold, and what distinguishes quality setting and finishing
- Present pieces properly: velvet trays, loupe, allowing clients to hold, wear, and compare
- Build lasting client relationships, including sharing photography and video of new pieces via WhatsApp on a company device
- Process transactions accurately and prepare pieces for packaging and dispatch
- Follow up after purchase with personalized care — anniversary reminders, service check-ins, and thoughtful attention rather than generic marketing
- Maintain the showroom to a consistently immaculate standard
Operations & Administration
- Coordinate client deliveries, including scheduling and tracking FedEx shipments internationally
- Maintain accurate inventory, order, and client records in our custom ERP system (full training provided — no prior experience with it expected)
- Handle daily stock counts and follow security procedures for high-value inventory
- Manage phone, email, and WhatsApp enquiries
- Support management with day-to-day office and retail operations
Exhibitions
Several times a year we exhibit internationally. You'll travel with the team for 6–8 days at a time, helping set up, present to clients, and represent SJ abroad. Flights and accommodation are covered.
