Specializing in developmental pediatrics, autism evaluations, ADHD testing, psychiatry, therapy services, primary care, and other specialty services, AFFA is committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care that improves the lives of patients and families.Overview We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) &ndash; Autism Diagnostic Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to early autism detection and intervention, working closely with children and their families in a collaborative clinical setting. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, enthusiasm for pediatric care, and a commitment to improving developmental outcomes.Duties<ul><li>Conduct comprehensive assessments of children suspected of having autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including behavioral observations and developmental evaluations</li><li>Administer diagnostic tools and standardized tests to support accurate autism diagnoses</li><li>Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including BCBAs, psychologists, and pediatricians to develop individualized care plans</li><li>Provide family education on autism spectrum disorder, early intervention strategies, and available resources</li><li>Document clinical findings thoroughly within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks</li><li>Assist in coordinating follow-up appointments, therapy referrals, and ongoing monitoring of developmental progress</li><li>Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Valid Family Nurse Practitioner license with pediatric or developmental specialty preferred</li><li>Experience working with children, especially those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder</li><li>Proficiency in clinical assessment tools for autism diagnosis and behavioral health evaluation</li><li>Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth</li><li>Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation procedures</li><li>Ability to perform physical examinations, administer injections, and conduct diagnostic procedures like sonography or tube feeding assessments</li><li>Excellent communication skills for family education and interdisciplinary collaboration</li><li>Experience with telehealth platforms for remote assessments is a plus</li><li>Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10), and medical documentation standards</li><li>Background in pediatric neurodevelopmental assessment or related clinical research is advantageous</li></ul>QualificationsPreferred:<ul><li>Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license</li><li>Experience performing ASD evaluations and diagnostic testing</li><li>Familiarity with ADOS-2, cognitive assessments, and developmental evaluations</li><li>Experience working with children, adolescents, and neurodiverse populations</li></ul>We Will Train the Right Candidate: If you are an FNP with a strong passion for helping children on the autism spectrum, we are willing to provide training and support toward certification in autism diagnostic assessment.
