Overview
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) – Autism Diagnostic Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to early autism detection and intervention, working closely with children and their families in a collaborative clinical setting. The ideal candidate will bring clinical expertise, enthusiasm for pediatric care, and a commitment to improving developmental outcomes.

Duties

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children suspected of having autism spectrum disorder (ASD), including behavioral observations and developmental evaluations
• Administer diagnostic tools and standardized tests to support accurate autism diagnoses
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including BCBAs, psychologists, and pediatricians to develop individualized care plans
• Provide family education on autism spectrum disorder, early intervention strategies, and available resources
• Document clinical findings thoroughly within electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks
• Assist in coordinating follow-up appointments, therapy referrals, and ongoing monitoring of developmental progress
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure confidentiality of patient information

Skills

• Valid Family Nurse Practitioner license with pediatric or developmental specialty preferred
• Experience working with children, especially those with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder
• Proficiency in clinical assessment tools for autism diagnosis and behavioral health evaluation
• Familiarity with EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation procedures
• Ability to perform physical examinations, administer injections, and conduct diagnostic procedures like sonography or tube feeding assessments
• Excellent communication skills for family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Experience with telehealth platforms for remote assessments is a plus
• Knowledge of CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-10), and medical documentation standards
• Background in pediatric neurodevelopmental assessment or related clinical research is advantageous

Qualifications

Preferred:

• Current Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license
• Experience performing ASD evaluations and diagnostic testing
• Familiarity with ADOS-2, cognitive assessments, and developmental evaluations
• Experience working with children, adolescents, and neurodiverse populations

Pay: $70.00 - $95.00 per hour
