Position: Soil Drilling Assistant &ndash; Portable Drilling Rig Location: San Carlos, CA Pay Range: $24.00&ndash;$26.00 per hour (based on experience) Experience: No prior drilling experience required &mdash; we will provide full training.Position OverviewAccess Soil Drilling is seeking a motivated and dependable Soil Drilling Assistant to support our field drilling operations throughout the Bay Area. This entry-level position offers hands-on training in geotechnical drilling and sampling, with opportunities for career growth within the company.Responsibilities<ul><li>Assist the Drilling Foreman during soil drilling and sampling on various job sites.</li><li>Maintain drilling equipment, tools, and the company van in clean and working condition.</li><li>Follow all safety procedures and work efficiently in outdoor environments.</li><li>Carry and handle heavy equipment, often over uneven terrain and steep slopes.</li><li>Safely drive a company cargo van to and from job sites.</li><li>Be punctual, reliable, and maintain a strong work ethic daily.</li></ul>Compensation &amp; Benefits<ul><li>Overtime Pay: 1.5&times; hourly rate for hours over 8 per day and weekends (hours vary daily).</li><li>Paid Time Off: Earn 8 hours PTO for every 165 hours worked.</li><li>Performance Bonuses based on productivity and reliability.</li><li>8 Paid Holidays per year.</li><li>Meal Provided for workdays exceeding 10 hours.</li><li>Phone Reimbursement for work-related use.</li><li>Vision Coverage.</li><li>Probation Period: Benefits begin after a six-week introductory period.</li><li>Opportunities for advancement</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Must pass a background check and provide a current DMV driving record.</li><li>Valid Driver&rsquo;s License and personal vehicle to commute to the San Carlos yard.</li><li>Clean driving record (no DUIs, one or fewer moving violations).</li><li>Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work on steep or limited-access sites.</li><li>Good physical condition and safety awareness.</li><li>Must wear steel-toed boots; company will provide other PPE (e.g., hard hat and safety vest).</li><li>Comfortable driving a cargo van to and from job sites.</li><li>Own a cell phone for daily communication.</li></ul>Preferred (Not Required)<ul><li>Basic mechanical skills, small engine repair, or arc welding experience a plus.</li><li>Prior experience working with minute man drilling equipment is a plus</li></ul>Schedule<ul><li>Monday through Friday.</li><li>Overtime and weekend work as needed depending on job demand.</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hourBenefits:<ul><li>Cell phone reimbursement</li><li>On-the-job training</li><li>Opportunities for advancement</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>High school or equivalent (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>San Carlos, CA 94070 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
