This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant school setting, utilizing your nursing skills to promote health initiatives and respond promptly to health needs.Responsibilities<ul><li>Conduct health assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and initial triage for students presenting with health concerns</li><li>Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and treatments such as tube feeding or wound care following medical protocols</li><li>Manage emergency situations with airway management, acute pain management, or other urgent care procedures while coordinating with emergency services when necessary</li><li>Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations</li><li>Collaborate with school staff and families to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions such as allergies, asthma, or disabilities</li><li>Work on one one with students</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Valid LPN or RN license with current state licensure and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)</li><li>Experience working in pediatric or school health environments is highly preferred</li><li>Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient medical documentation</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques</li><li>Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration including injections and venipuncture</li><li>Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a school setting</li><li>Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively while providing compassionate care to students of all ages</li></ul>Join us in creating a safe and healthy learning environment!
