Responsibilities

• Conduct health assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and initial triage for students presenting with health concerns
• Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and treatments such as tube feeding or wound care following medical protocols
• Manage emergency situations with airway management, acute pain management, or other urgent care procedures while coordinating with emergency services when necessary
• Maintain accurate medical documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Collaborate with school staff and families to develop individualized health plans for students with chronic conditions such as allergies, asthma, or disabilities
• Work on one one with students

Skills

• Valid LPN or RN license with current state licensure and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience working in pediatric or school health environments is highly preferred
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth for efficient medical documentation
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, medication administration including injections and venipuncture
• Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic techniques within a school setting
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively while providing compassionate care to students of all ages
