Legal Assistant &ndash; Tampa, FL (Insurance Defense Preferred Compensation: $55,000 &ndash; $70,000 (based on experience)Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant with at least 3 years of litigation experience to support attorneys in medical malpractice and healthcare defense matters. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys working on complex cases with a collaborative team.Key Responsibilities:&middot; Maintain attorney calendars and schedule depositions, hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.&middot; Draft, edit, and manage legal documents, pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.&middot; Prepare and file documents through the Florida E-Filing Portal and federal CM/ECF systems.&middot; Handle attorney billing, time entry, and ensure compliance with client billing guidelines.&middot; Communicate effectively with clients, experts, vendors, and court personnel.&middot; Organize and maintain case files, exhibits, and discovery materials from inception through trial.&middot; Support case closure and document retention processes.&middot; Utilize litigation management systems such as CaseGlide, Acuity, and Legal Tracker.Qualifications:&middot; High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or paralegal certificate preferred.&middot; Minimum 3&ndash;5 years&rsquo; experience as a legal assistant in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or healthcare litigation.&middot; Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and familiarity with legal document management systems.&middot; Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.&middot; Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Location: Tampa, Florida | On-site positionJob Type: Full-timePay: $55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per yearWork Location: In person
