Requirements/Qualifications:
<ul><li>Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related degree</li>
<li>3+ years of experience in bridge inspection, methods, and procedures.</li>
<li>Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) is required</li>
<li>Experience with MA infrastructure projects is preferred
</li><li>MA Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation or ability to obtain within 12 months is preferred</li>
<li>Bridge Design/Rehabilitation and Bridge Load Rating experience is a plus</li>
<li>NHI Inspection and Maintenance of Ancillary Highway Structures, FCM, tunnel inspection NHI courses, railroad, and/or safety training are a plus.</li><li>
Completion of an NHI two (2) week Bridge Inspector&rsquo;s Training Certificate and/or Refresher course within the past 5 years is preferred.</li></ul>

Responsibilities
<ul><li> Bridge, tunnel, and ancillary/traffic safety inspections and load ratings</li></ul>
<ul><li> Preparing scheduling, writing inspection reports, assuring QA/QC, and assist with project coordination</li></ul>
<ul><li> Perform structural analyses, develop calculations, and prepare plans in accordance with federal, state, and local agency requirements.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Prepare quantities, cost estimates, and special provisions.</li></ul>
<ul><li> May perform site visits and onsite structure inspections from time to time.
</li></ul><ul><li> Manage and maintain project and QA/QC documentation.
</li></ul><ul><li> Assist project managers with assignments including schedule and budget updates and proposal preparation
</li></ul><ul><li> Perform engineering tasks related to bridge design projects and other transportation-related structural design and analysis projects as time allows</li></ul>
<ul><li> Design steel, concrete, and/or timber bridge elements, walls, and associated structures as time allows</li></ul>

<ul><li> A self-starter with the ability to work with project teams and manage multiple and concurrent tasks/assignments</li></ul>

Structural Engineer, Team Leader

<div>AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) is looking for an experienced Resident Engineer to join our Construction Engineering Inspection services supporting projects in Connecticut and New York. This position will oversee projects, including those for CTDOT, MNR, Amtrak, LIRR and similar clients. This role will require exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and coordination to ensure project success.

Requirements/Qualifications:
 Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
<ul><li> 8+ years in Resident Engineering and inspection, preferably on railroad, MNR, Amtrak, or LIRR projects
</li></ul><ul><li> Professional Engineer (PE) license in Connecticut or New York.</li></ul>
<ul><li> CCM or NICET IV certification is a plus.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Familiarity with railroad construction and maintenance standards, including FRA, MNR, Amtrak, LIRR, freight and short-line railroad specifications, preferred.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Knowledge of Connecticut and New York state-specific regulations and construction practices.</li></ul> 

Responsibilities
<ul><li> Oversee day-to-day construction and inspection activities for railroad projects, ensuring contractor adherence to project goals, including cost, schedule, and quality.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Provide leadership and direction to construction inspection staff, ensuring timely and accurate daily inspection reports.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Act as a liaison between contractors, design staff, and stakeholders to address RFIs and review shop drawings.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Conduct technical reviews of construction plans, specifications, and project modifications for constructability and practicality.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Manage the contractor payment process, recommending adjustments as needed to maintain budgetary control.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Ensure site safety compliance and coordination with stakeholders, including local agencies and clients.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Monitor contractor performance and resolve issues related to schedule, quality, or other project challenges.</li></ul>
<ul><li> Prepare and submit detailed reports, correspondence, and other deliverables as required by the client.</li></ul>
