<div>Northern Pakistan Energy Limited (NPAK Energy), a subsidiary of Industrial Promotion Service (IPS) of the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), operates based on a 30-year Concession Agreement signed with the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan (GB). Responding to the GB government&rsquo;s request, NPAK Energy will develop the energy system to supply clean, reliable, and affordable electricity for all of Hunza as well as demonstrate the applicability and relevance of a regionally proven model for the operation of an integrated utility company in Pakistan.<br>
It builds on the successful PPP solutions implemented by AKFED in both Tajikistan and Afghanistan, through NPAK Energy&rsquo;s sister companies, Pamir Energy and Badakhshon Energy.<br>
<br>
NPak Energy Project Manager will be responsible for:<ul><li>
Prepare the project plans, schedules, and specifications.</li><li>
Lead in preparation of project budget.</li><li>

Monitor and maintain the project construction schedule every week.</li><li>
Monitor site safety and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety standards are enforced. Assure that all incidents, near misses and accidents are documented and appropriate measures are taken to prevent any such incidents in a fast manner.</li><li>
Ensure completion of and track all independent testing and inspections as required by the relevant authorities, the laws, relevant legislation and standards of Gilgit Baltistan and to ensure all required civic bodies inspections are performed.</li><li>
Issue Monthly progress reports including summary of work performed in reporting months and in next coming month.</li><li>
Maintain and enforce good construction standards and quality control.</li><li>
Maintain Control and responsibility for the security and operation of the directly owned equipment on the job site in conjunction with site staff.</li><li>
Control and monitor labor, material and equipment expenses.</li><li>
Prepare monthly cost forecasting summaries.</li><li>
Prepare and expedite project deficient lists.</li><li>
Supervise the development and implementation of a quality assurance program for manufacturing, monitoring schedule, supervise the inspection of equipment and materials prior to delivery from the manufacturing place, review documents to assure quality of delivered goods, carry out comparisons of as-built drawings to design, and addressing shortcomings in any of these areas (site visits would be required during the manufacturing and construction phases).</li><li>
Supervise the specification of all items/requirements which must be followed up to reduce temporary impacts to environment and people during construction, specify each required item in a checklist and ensure that the items are handled according to International best practices following this checklist, monitor impacts and the mitigation measures taken to reduce such impacts and report on a monthly reporting basis, review these reports and if required, financial partners may request to check the situation at site during other planned site visits.</li></ul></div>

<div><b>QUALIFICATIONS &amp; EXPERIENCE</b>
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering (Electrical, Civil, Mechanical) or a related field; a master&rsquo;s degree in project management, Engineering, or Business Administration will be an added advantage.</li><li>
Minimum of 8&ndash;10 years of relevant professional experience in project management, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or utility sector.</li><li>
Proven experience in managing renewable energy projects, power generation, transmission/distribution, or EPC contracts.</li><li>

Field Engineer

Reporting to the Dean of the Medical College, Pakistan, <b>the Director, Centre for Regenerative Medicine and Stem Cell Research </b>is responsible for strengthening regenerative medicine and genomic research across AKU by training fundamental, translational and clinical researchers and leading translational research programmes.<br>
<br>
<b>The ideal candidate for the role:</b><br>
The<b> Director </b>will be an inspirational leader who can develop and implement a strategic vision for the Centre. They will promote a culture of learning, innovation, collaboration, teamwork, respect and ethical conduct of research. The Director will strengthen relationships with researchers and clinicians across AKU and build a network of local and global partners, inclusive of academia, government research facilities, and industry. The Director will be a leader in AKU&rsquo;s regions for policy development relative to regenerative and genomic medicine, ethics, commercialization opportunities, and community engagement.<br>
<br>
The ideal candidate will work in domains of regenerative and genomic medicine that align with regional priorities for South Asia and East Africa, including Mendelian and complex disorders. The high rates of consanguinity in Pakistan enables the discovery of novel pathogenic variants for Mendelian diseases. The Centre/AKU facilities enable the development of iPSC and animal models targeting patient-specific variants, precise gene editing, investigation of signaling pathways, and drug testing. Together, these activities provide functional validation of disease-causing variants and mechanisms and enable therapeutic development. Conditions with regional significance include blood disorders (sickle cell anaemia / thalassemia), neurodevelopmental disorders, metabolic disorders, cancers, and retinal disorders. The ideal candidate will have experience in bench-to-bedside translation of cell or gene therapies in these regionally relevant domains.<br>

This is a full-time position, with flexibility to consider a part-time arrangement for an exceptional candidate, in alignment with University policies.<br>

<b>Specific responsibilities will include to:</b><ul><li>
lead interdisciplinary regenerative medicine research and training within the Medical College, Pakistan and AKU while strengthening local through international networks with a full range of stakeholders;
</li><li>leverage AKU assets, such as biobanks and longitudinal health outcomes and phenotype data for translational regenerative medicine research programmes;</li><li>
