Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal applicant will possess strong knowledge of various accounting software and financial management practices, with a focus on delivering precise financial information to support strategic decision-making.Responsibilities<ul><li>Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with recognised accounting standards.</li><li>Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.</li><li>Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to record and reconcile financial transactions.</li><li>Oversee general ledger activities and ensure proper categorisation of expenses and revenues.</li><li>Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.</li><li>Support internal audits and liaise with external auditors as required.</li><li>Contribute to financial planning and management by analysing financial data and preparing forecasts.</li><li>Mentor junior team members or interns, providing guidance on best practices in financial management.</li><li>Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, preparing necessary documentation for tax filings.</li></ul>Skills<ul><li>Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft.</li><li>Strong understanding of financial services industry practices and standards.</li><li>Proficiency in financial accounting principles and procedures.</li><li>Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.</li><li>Ability to analyse complex financial data and present clear insights.</li><li>Effective communication skills for mentoring team members and collaborating across departments.</li><li>Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in all work outputs.</li><li>Prior experience in accounts payable, receivable, or general ledger management is desirable.
