Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with recognised accounting standards.
  • Manage accounts payable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Utilise accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, or similar platforms to record and reconcile financial transactions.
  • Oversee general ledger activities and ensure proper categorisation of expenses and revenues.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support internal audits and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Contribute to financial planning and management by analysing financial data and preparing forecasts.
  • Mentor junior team members or interns, providing guidance on best practices in financial management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations, preparing necessary documentation for tax filings.

Skills

  • Proven experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or PeopleSoft.
  • Strong understanding of financial services industry practices and standards.
  • Proficiency in financial accounting principles and procedures.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to analyse complex financial data and present clear insights.
  • Effective communication skills for mentoring team members and collaborating across departments.
  • Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in all work outputs.
  • Prior experience in accounts payable, receivable, or general ledger management is desirable.
