Aleshire &amp; Wynder is a unique law firm dedicated to the representation of public entities by providing innovative, ethical, and cost-effective legal representation.Responsibilities - Associate Attorney<ul><li>Cover a wide array of practice areas including, but not limited to, Cannabis, Code Enforcement, Contracts &amp; Public Works, Economic Development, Education, Elections, Energy &amp; Utilities, Environment &amp; Natural Resources, Ethics &amp; Open Government, Franchises, Housing, Labor &amp; Employment, Land Use &amp; Zoning, Litigation, Mining, Mobile home Parks &amp; Rent Control, Property Acquisition &amp; Takings, Public Agency Organization, Public Finance, Public Safety, Real Estate, Risk Management &amp; Torts, Telecommunications, Toxics &amp; Hazardous Waste and Water</li><li>Research and analyze the law on complex issues and writing briefs for submission to a Supervising Attorney(s)</li><li>Analyze and summarize complicated legal documents, including contracts, and suggesting alterations to those documents</li><li>Perform discovery of various electronically stored data and hard copies of information in preparation for litigation</li><li>Perform due diligence in legal matters concerning contracts and agreements</li><li>Analyze probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents to reveal potential legal liabilities for our clients</li><li>Advise clients concerning business transactions, claim liability, advisability of prosecuting or defending lawsuits, or legal rights and obligations</li><li>Represent clients in court or before government agencies</li><li>Evaluate findings and develop strategies and arguments in preparation for presentation of cases</li><li>Gather evidence to formulate defense or to initiate legal actions, by such means as interviewing clients and witnesses to ascertain the facts of a case</li><li>Search for and examine public and other legal records to write opinions or identify complexities</li><li>Confer with colleagues with specialties in appropriate areas of legal issue to establish and verify bases for legal proceedings</li><li>Maintain communication with a client concerning representation as needed under the discretion of the Supervising Attorney(s)</li><li>Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law</li><li>Complete special projects as assigned</li><li>Perform related duties as assigned</li><li>Supervise Legal Secretaries and Paralegals as needed</li><li>Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures</li></ul>What Matters Most<ul><li>Must be a member of the California State Bar</li><li>2+ years' experience as a practicing attorney preferred</li><li>Ability to handle a high case load and willingness to meet personally with clients</li><li>Municipal Law experience a plus</li><li>Prior court appearance, written discovery and deposition experience a plus</li><li>Experience in all phases of litigation process</li><li>Ability to effectively set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects under Supervising Attorney(s)</li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Strong propensity for people and detail</li><li>Adaptable to changing priorities; flexible</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills</li><li>Ability to interact with all levels of firm personnel, clients, other counsel and vendors</li><li>Complete knowledge of local and Federal Rules of Court</li><li>Trial support and presentation experience a plus</li><li>Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude</li><li>Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given</li></ul>Join our team of skilled legal professionals and showcase your expertise in a challenging and rewarding position.Apply now and take the next step in your legal career with Aleshire &amp; Wynder, LLP.Job Type: Full-timePay: $140,000.00 - $200,000.00 per yearBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Health savings account</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Parental leave</li><li>Professional development assistance</li><li>Referral program</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Fresno, CA 93721 (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Relocate:<ul><li>Fresno, CA 93721: Relocate before starting work (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Fresno, CA 93721
