Candidates with several years of independent practice experience may find this role less aligned with their level of training, as the position is designed to support early-career Nurse Practitioners.Responsibilities<ul><li>Conduct thorough patient assessments, including mental health evaluations, vital signs, and physical examinations.</li><li>Develop individualized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices and patient preferences.</li><li>Provide medication management, including prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications in accordance with state regulations.</li><li>Offer counseling and psychoeducation to patients and their families to promote understanding and adherence to treatment.</li><li>Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate holistic care.</li><li>Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Tebra (Kareo) or Epic for accurate documentation of patient encounters and treatment progress.</li><li>Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.</li></ul>Experience This position is tailored for new graduates or early-career Family Nurse Practitioners with a strong interest in behavioral health. While prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm for mental health care and possess foundational knowledge in areas such as:<ul><li>Patient assessment techniques and clinical documentation standards.</li><li>Basic pharmacology related to psychotropic medications and medication administration protocols.</li><li>Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Tebra (Kareo) or Epic for efficient record keeping.</li><li>Knowledge of mental health conditions across age groups including pediatrics, geriatrics, and adults.</li><li>Understanding of behavioral health interventions, crisis management, and triage procedures.</li><li>Additional desirable skills include experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care, familiarity with telehealth platforms, and exposure to multidisciplinary team environments focused on holistic patient care.</li></ul>Our ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, transparent about their learning journey, and committed to providing compassionate mental health services that improve lives every day.
