Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Daycare Lead Teacher to join our childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children, fostering their development through engaging activities and personalized care. This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on children's early learning experiences while working within a supportive team.Responsibilities<ul><li>Plan and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development</li><li>Develop and implement daily lesson plans that align with the center's curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices</li><li>Maintain a structured and organized classroom environment.</li><li>Manage transitions and activities effectively.</li><li>Address children's upsets and emergency situations calmly and appropriately.</li><li>Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care at all times</li><li>Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to create a welcoming environment</li><li>Monitor and document each child's progress, behavior, and needs to inform ongoing care plans</li><li>Provide a nurturing and stimulating environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving, and respect for oneself and others.</li><li>Assist with daily routines such as meal times, nap times, and hygiene practices</li><li>Maintain a clean and organised classroom environment in accordance with health and safety standards</li><li>Support children's individual interests and needs through personalised attention and activities</li><li>Promote inclusive play and encourage children to develop social skills</li><li>Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress and well-being</li><li>Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and parents to create a supportive and positive learning environment</li><li>Provide ongoing communication, photos, and videos on the school app</li><li>Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements and standards set by the Virginia Department of Education</li><li>Maintain accurate records and documentation as required</li></ul>Experience<ul><li>Previous experience working as a teacher with young children in a childcare setting with relevant training or qualifications required</li><li>Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education practices</li><li>Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members</li><li>Ability to organise activities that are both educational and fun, fostering curiosity and learning</li><li>Patience, creativity, and a caring attitude are essential qualities for success in this role</li></ul>This position provides an enriching environment where you can contribute positively to children's growth while developing your professional skills within a supportive setting.Job Type: Full-timeExpected hours: 8 per weekWork Location: In person
